Tiger Woods tees off in the first round of the Australian Open this afternoon in Sydney convinced he's finally in position to begin his rise to the top of world golf again, having slipped to 58th in the world rankings.

For the first two rounds, Woods has been grouped for the first time with the rising Australian star Jason Day, the world number seven, and Robert Allenby who's won two Australian Opens.

This week's field includes eight players in the world's top-20.
