Sacked Manly coach Des Hasler has reportedly called off threats of legal action against the National Rugby League Premiers and will start work as head coach of rivals the Canterbury Bulldogs on Monday.

The news comes a day after Canterbury boss Todd Greenberg rejected claims the Bulldogs acted inappropriately in luring Hasler from Manly.

Hasler was sacked by the Sea Eagles last Friday over his alleged role in the poaching backroom staff to join him at Canterbury.

He's told the Australian Sunday Telegraph newspaper the sacking came as a great surprise when he had been gearing up with his staff for a shot at a back-to-back NRL campaigns.
