The Black Caps batsman Jesse Ryder has been included in the Wellington side to play Northern Districts next week in the second round of cricket's Plunket Shield competition.

Ryder returned home early last month from the New Zealand Cricket team's tour of Zimbabwe with a calf injury but has been cleared to play.

Wellington's made three changes for the match, which will be played at Lincoln near Christchurch.

Ryder and fellow Black Caps Andy McKay and Jeetan Patel all come into the side.
