The Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder is hoping his player Zac Guildford now realises he has a drinking problem.
The All Black winger is said to have assaulted two patrons at a bar in Rarotonga over the weekend.
In September, Guildford admitted having a problem with alcohol and agreed to moderate his drinking.
Blackadder says whatever had been in put place by the New Zealand Union since then obviously hasn't worked.
