Southee still not back to his best

10:40 am on 15 November 2011

The Black caps bowler Tim Southee feels he's still some way off his best as he looks to return to the international game after injury.

Southee took 7 for 37 for Northern Districts in their Plunket Shield match against Wellington... his second game back after a knee injury kept him out of the tour of Zimbabwe.

Southee says he's not thinking about the series against Australia.... while he bowled well yesterday, he's still doesn't feel a hundred percent..

Wellington were bowled out for 162, Northern were 156 for 1 at stumps on day one.

Also at Lincoln, Central Districts are 49 for 1 in reply to Otago's first innings of 207 inwhich the Central legspinner Tarun Nethula took 6 for 32.

And test batsman Dean Brownlie is unbeaten on 112 with canterbury 324 for 5 batting first against Auckland in Rangiora.
