Kane Williamson plunders Wellington bowlers

The young New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has scored an unbeaten 252 for Northern Districts to make the most of his last Plunket Shield cricket match before the Black Caps start their tour of Australia next week.

Northern Districts lead Wellington by 378 with four second innings wickets in hand.

And thanks to a pair of unbeaten centuries, one from Black Caps opener Martin Guptill, Auckland will start day three in Rangiora on 282 for five, trailing Canterbury by 209 after recovering from 72 for five.

Guptill's on 121 and Colin de Grandhomme's on 117.

In the other match at Lincoln Otago trails Central Districts by 41 with nine second innings wickets in hand.
