5:59 am on 18 November 2011

Auckland City will meet the J-League champions in the first round of the Fifa World Club championship following the draw in japan last night.

The J-League champions are yet to be confirmed.

Auckland's opening match is on December 8th and if they win that they'll meet Concacaf champions Monterrey of Mexico.

The Auckland City coach Ramon Tribulietx says a potential quarter final with Monterrey is a fantastic fixture, but they must first focus on their opening game.

Two years ago Auckland reached the quarter-finals and played Atlante of Mexico.

When asked who would win the FIFA Club World Cup the Barcelona-born Tribulietx said there was only one team to look out for and that was the European champions.
