Clarke says win over South Africa greatest of his career

The Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke says his side's two-wicket win over South Africa is the greatest of his career.

Three under-pressureplayers - Ricky Ponting, Brad Haddin, and Mitchell Johnson - joined 18-year-old debutant Pat Cummins in leading Australia to the win in what's already being described as one of the great finishes and series in Test history.

After suffering a humiliating first-Test loss when Austraila was dismissed for a 109-year record low of 47, Australia won the second when they chased down a record 310 run fourth innings target at The Wanderers.

The win means Clarke remains undefeated in series as a captain since taking over from Ponting after March's World Cup.

Australia now return home for a two-Test series against New Zealand, the first of which begins in Brisbane on Thursday week.
