Defence still the word for Dragons

6:20 am on 23 November 2011

The handbrake won't be released from St George Illawarra, with skipper Ben Hornby adamant defence will remain the NRL club's hallmark under new coach Steve Price.

The post-Wayne Bennett era has finally kicked off with Price overseeing the first day of pre-season training in Wollongong after a 10-year apprenticeship coming through the grades.

But while the master coach might have moved on, Hornby says Bennett's blueprint for success will live on and while they'll look to improve on attack their' game will still be built on defence.

Thirty-four-year-old Price will have plenty of off-field support as he embarks on his rookie campaign with former premiership-winning coach Steve Folkes as his assistant.
