Breakers' comeback sinks Crocs

The New Zealand Breakers recovered from an awful first quarter to haul in the Townsville Crocodiles 88-74 in one of the Australian National Basketball league's great escapes.

After trailing by 23 points early in the second quarter the Breakers cut the Crocs' lead to 12 at half-time with Thomas Abercrombie sparking the comeback.

After a run of 12 points they went ahead for the first time late in the third quarter, albeit briefly, and began to fourth trailing by one.

The Breakers led by five with under five minutes to go then began to pull away thanks to a couple of three pointers from Darryl Corletto and one from Cedric Jackson.

Abercrombie led the Breakers with 19 points, one more than Gary Wilkinson while Corletto contributed 16, starting for CJ Bruton, whose chronic knee injury limited his court time to under seven minutes during which he didn't put up a shot.
