Breakers storm back for a win

7:19 pm on 25 November 2011

The New Zealand Breakers have ended their two-match losing slide in the Australian National Basketball League with a miraculous come-from-behind-victory over Townsville in Auckland last night.

Led by Thomas Abercrombie, who continued his hot form with 19 points, the Breakers rallied from 23 points down early in the second quarter to beat the Crocs 88-74.

Centre Gary Wilkinson scored 18, while veteran Daryl Corletto added 16 starting in place of the injured CJ Bruton.

Breakers assistant coach Dean Vickerman says with their group last year, whenever they got down, whether it was on the road or at home, they always believed they were going to win..... this result goes a long way towards building that back again.

The win moves the Breakers back to the top of the ANBL standings with 6 wins and 3 losses.
