Bromwich signs NRL contract extension with Storm

Melbourne have secured the signature of talented front-rower Jesse Bromwich on a contract extension to keep him at the National Rugby League club until the end of 2015.

The New Zealand prop enjoyed a stellar 2011 season, receiving the rookie of the year award with fellow rising star Gareth Widdop at the Storm's presentation ball.

Bromwich also earned a Dally M nomination for prop of the year.

Bromwich - another success story from Melbourne's development program - progressed through the ranks of the club's under-20s where he was an integral part of the 2009 NYC premiership team that also included current Storm NRL players Widdop, Kevin Proctor, Matt Duffie and Justin O'Neill.

Bromwich, 22, joined a rare group of players, having made his first-grade debut in the 2010 World Cup Challenge final against Leeds.

The Bromwich family tradition continues at the Storm with younger brother Kenny being promoted to Melbourne's NRL squad for 2012 after captaining the under-20s side this year.
