Taranaki's Ben Souness has joined the New Zealand Rugby Sevens team in Dubai for the second leg of the IRB World Series.
Souness replaces Bay of Plenty's Scott Curry who has returned home after suffering an ankle injury during the first tournament of the season on the Gold Coast last weekend.
New Zealand were beaten by Fiji in the final on the Gold Coast.
New Zealand will play Russia, the USA and Portugal in their pool in Dubai.
