Raikkonen returns to F1

The Flying Finn Kimi Raikkonen is returning to formula one next season after signing a two-year deal with Lotus Renault.

The 2007 world champion with Ferrari left the sport in a surprise move in 2009 to pursue a career in rallying, but has decided to return with Lotus Renault after talks with Williams fell through.

32 year old Raikkonen says he enjoyed his time in rallying, but recently his hunger for formula one had become overwhelming.

His return means the future of the Russian driver Vitaly Petrov looks uncertain.
