Kirwan undaunted by England challenge

8:13 am on 1 December 2011

The All Black great John Kirwan, who has expressed interest in coaching England, says he's undaunted by the turmoil within the RFU, and ready for his next coaching challenge.

Kirwan, who bowed out as Japan's coach after the World Cup, says he would be prepared to take on the England job on a temporary basis, following the resignation of Martin Johnson.

The former All Black winger says while more experienced coaches mght regard taking charge of England now as a poisoned chalice, he's younger, enjoys risk, and he'd like to get in there and sort the team out.

Kirwan's in London for Saturday's Heroes Rugby Challenge at Twickenham, in aid of injured armed forces personnel.
