Black Caps top order embarrass themselves in Brisbane

10:14 am on 5 December 2011

The Black Caps have called paceman Brent Arnel into the squad for the second cricket test against Australia starting in Hobart on Friday, but it's the woeful New Zealand batsmen who should be on notice after another capitulation sentenced them to an embarrassing 9 wicket loss in the first test at the Gabba.

The Black Caps entered day four on 10 for 1 but were left reeling after losing 3 wickets in the first half hour of play and were all out for a paltry 150 just after lunch.

Australia then cantered to victory reaching the measly target of 19 with 9 wickets to spare.

Captain Ross Taylor concedes the Black Caps top order played like schoolboys in Brisbane.

The second and final test starts in Hobart on Friday.
