McIlroy out to spoil Donald's double

The world golf number two Rory McIlroy holed a bunker shot on the 18th hole to win the Hong Kong Open last night, keeping alive his slim hopes of denying England's Luke Donald an historic Order of Merit double.

A final-round 65 clinched gave the Northern Irishman a two stroke victory which gives him a chance of snatching the European tour money title, which Donald needs to complete a unique double, having already finished top of the PGA tour money list.

McIlroy will still have to win this week's Dubai World Championship to finish the European season on top.

New Zealand's Danny Lee had a disappointing final day in Hong Kong dropping into a tie for 29th after a closing round of 74.
