Tiger Woods has roared back to 21st in the world rankings, an improvement of 31 places following his drought-breaking win yesterday at the Chevron World Challenge in California.

35 year old Woods birdied the last two holes of the select field to edge out his playing partner Zach Johnson by one stroke, landing his first title since the Australian Masters in November 2009.

Englishman Luke Donald will end the year as world number one regardless of his performance at this week's Dubai World Championship, the final event of the European Tour season.
