Black Caps batsmen have frank discussion

The New Zealand cricket coach John Wright has slammed his side's batting performance at the Gabba, but says there won't be any changes to the top order for the second Test starting in Hobart on Friday.

None of New Zealand's top five managed a half-century in the Brisbane defeat, and in both innings the first five wickets had fallen with less than 100 on the board.

Wright says what he's looking for is substance in his batters, the ability to bat for a long time and sell their wickets dearly.

Dean Brownlie, who scored an unbeaten 77 and 42 at the Gabba, says it was an honest discussion the players had with the coach....
