Taranaki's Kylem O'Donnell will make his New Zealand rugby sevens debut this weekend after joining the team in Port Elizabeth for the third leg of the IRB World Series.

O'Donnell is the older brother of Chiefs and former New Zealand Sevens player Declan O'Donnell.

He replaces Taranaki's James Marshall who has returned home to join the Hurricanes Wider Training Group.

Meanwhile, Wellington's George Tilsley will also travel to South Africa as replacement cover for the squad.

New Zealand are fourth in the overall standings after finishing runners-up on the Gold Coast and losing their quarter-final in Dubai last weekend
