Pulse chairman stands down

1:50 pm on 9 December 2011

Nigel Kirkpatrick has resigned as chairman of the Central Pulse netball franchise after three years at the helm.

Board member Ian Collier has described Kirkpatrick's contribution to the trans-tasman team as "invaluable" and explained that he had been a major force behind the improvement in the team's fortunes.

The Pulse managed just two wins in their first three seasons, although improved to eighth with three wins last season.

In recent months he has overseen the recruitment of a world class coach in Robyn Broughton, along with some of the country's leading players.
