Red Devils put pressure back on Sky Blues

Manchester United has closed the gap at the top of the English football Premiership to two points on crosstown rivals Manchester City with a 4-1 win over Wolves at Old Trafford.

City face Chelsea away in London on Tuesday.

Arsenal moved up to fourth after beating Everton 1-0 at home at the Emirates in London, while Wigan Athletic, Swansea City, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Norwich City also posted wins.

Liverpool climbed to sixth above Newcastle United after seeing off promoted Queens Park Rangers 1-0 at home at Anfield and Norwich beat their visitors United 4-2 to move to ninth.

Villa won 2-1 at Bolton and go eighth, Swansea beat Fulham 2-0 at home and Wigan moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 victory at West Bromwich Albion.
