Callum Millward has won the Taupo Half Ironman, carving nearly 10 minutes off the race record.
The Aucklander covered the two-kilometre swim, 90-kilometre cycle and 21.1-kilometre run in three hours 56 minutes and 16 seconds to beat 10-times New Zealand Ironman champion Cameron Brown by 27 seconds.
The New Zealand Ironman women's champion Sam Warriner won the women's race, quickly moving into the lead on the cycle after exiting the swim in third and going on to win by a wide margin of three minutes over Gina Crawford.
