NZ sailors continue to perform at World Champs

The 49er crew of Peter Burling and Blair Tuke are the best placed New Zealand crew in second place in the start of the second week of the World Sailing Championships off Fremantle.

The pair finished in the top five in all 3 of their races on a stormy day in Western Australia.

The women's 470 crew of Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie are 7th..... Tom Ashley is 6th and Jon Paul Tobin 8th in the men's boardsailing.... Josh Junior is 12th in the men's Laser.... also had a strong start. This crew, usually known as Team Jolly, finished their first two races in seventh and fourth place which leaves them in fourth overall.

The Men's RS:X windsurfer, women's 470 and the men's single handed Laser class had two races today, while the 49ers had three.

4 New Zealand crews qualified for the Olympics from the first week of racing.
