Altitude training great for Ingram

11:59 am on 22 December 2011

The New Zealand swimmer Melissa Ingram says a 3 week altitude camp in Arizona has helped her summer training programme get off on the right foot.

Ingram was a part of Swimming New Zealand's High Performance Centre athletes who trained at Flagstaff under the guidance of coach Mark Regan who is a keen advocate of altitude training.

Ingram, who has already set an Olympic qualifying time in the 200 backstroke says it was something new for her.

While she has only just returned she says she feels great following the camp.

Ingram says she's tailoring her training towards the Olympic trials in March.
