The reigning Olympic boardsailing champion Tom Ashley says he'll now review his future in the sport after missing out on selection for next year's London Olympics.
Ashley, who won a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics, lost out to long time rival Jon Paul Tobin, when a 12-strong sailing squad for London was announced.
Tobin finished fifth at the recent world sailing champs off Freemantle - one place ahead of Ashley.
Ashley says while missing out didn't come as a surprise he still needs time to get over the disappointment.
He says he'll take time out from the sport over Christmas and the New Year to rest and recover from a tough year and think about his future.
Ashley says he doesn't want to rush any decision as he's not in the right fame of mind.
