Rain ruins domestic Twenty20 games

8:02 am on 30 December 2011

Rain ruined both provincial Twenty20 cricket matches yesterday.

The Central Stags and Canterbury Wizards fourth round match at New Plymouth's Pukekura Park was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The Stags' next match, against the Auckland Aces, is scheduled for today at the same venue while the Wizards next game is against the Northern Knights at Mt Maunganui tomorrow.

The Northern Knights and Otago Volts were also frustrated by rain in Dunedin yesterday.

The game stuttered along with two breaks for weather before the rain had the final say.
