India lost the test by 122 runs inside four days.
Skipper MS Dhoni says the wining total of 292 runs set yesterday was achieveable but his batsmen need to be more consistent.
Dhoni says the Australian bowlers bowled a nagging line while the wicket, though not ideal for batting, was good.
The second test begins in Sydney next week.
