The Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has marked his 70th birthday with a vow to stay at the English premier league football club for at least three more years.

Ferguson says he envisages remaining at Old Trafford until 2014 and possibly beyond provided his health and passion for the job remained.

Ferguson also says he's motivated by the challenge of building a new side capable of dominating English football and conquering Europe once more.

He adds the club owes its success to the way players reacted in adversity.

Ferguson says "people maybe say we're great winners and all that type of thing, but I think we're great losers. You know why? Because we don't let it happen too many times and we've a certain attitude about that."
