Sunderland has stunned English football's premier league leaders Manchester City with a stoppage-time goal to win 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
With Manchester United and Chelsea sufering home defeats and Tottenham Hotspur managing only a draw yesterday, City intended to make the chasing pack pay for dropping points.
The result leaves City ahead of second-placed United on goal difference and six points in front of third-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
In the day's other game Everton beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in a mid-table encounter at the Hawthorns.
