The Spanish tennis player David Ferrer has defended his Heineken Open title, beating the Belgian Olivier Rochus in straight sets in the final in Auckland.
Ferrer won 6-3 6-4 in a rain-interrupted match that lasted only an hour and 36 minutes on court, but took three hours to complete.
It's the world number five's third Auckland title after his maiden win in 2007 - he joins the New Zealand great Onny Parun and the Australian legend Roy Emerson as the only players to win the tournament three times.
The top-seeded Austrian pair of Alexander Peya and Oliver Marach easily won the doubles final, 6-3 6-2 in just 64 minutes over the third-seeded Czech-Slovakian duo, Frantisek Cermak and Filip Polasek.
