Eli Manning and Tom Brady return for practice

10:20 am on 20 January 2012

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning returned to the American football side's latest practice after a stomach bug forced him to miss a workout earlier in the week ahead of the weekend's NFC championship game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Manning, enjoying the best season of his National Football League career, went through the whole range of practice at the Giants' training facility to stay on course for the showdown in San Francisco that will send the winner to the Super Bowl.

Meantime New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady also returned to practice after sitting out the prior day's workout to rest his left, non-throwing shoulder ahead of the AFC title game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The top-seeded Patriots will host the second-ranked Ravens with the winner advancing to the season finale in Indianapolis.
