Perth survived a nail-biting finale to record a 76-75 Australian National Basketball League away win over the Sydney Kings in front of a crowd of over 7500.

Sydney's Graeme Dann missed two free-throws with less than a second remaining to hand the Wildcats their one-point victory.

The win lifts the Wildcats back to the top of the table level with the defending champion New Zealand Breakers who beat the Tigers on Thursday night.

Meanwhile Wollongong snapped a seven-game losing streak with a clinical performance in Cairns, leading from start to finish to prevail 80-74.

The bottom of the table Hawks started the final term 14 points in front and survived a scare to hang on for a long-awaited victory over the fourth placed Taipans.
