NZOC confident NZ can win 100th Olympic medal in London

Six months out from the London Games the New Zealand Olympic Committee is confidently predicting New Zealand's one hundredth Olympic medal will be won.

New Zealand Olympians have won 90 Olympic medals since the nation's first in 1908 and secretary general Kereyn Smith says winning the 100th is a realistic goal for the London team.

Twelve athletes have so far been named in the team to Lodon which is expected to eventually be made up of 200 athletes across 17 sports.

Selection criteria stipulates each of the athletes selected must demonstrate they can finish in the top 16.
