Pakistan knock England out to take series

9:20 am on 29 January 2012

The England cricket team has been humbled by Pakistan, losing the second cricket Test by 72 runs and conceding the three-test series 2-0 at Abu Dhabi.

Chasing just 145 to win, England were bowled out for their lowest Test score against Pakistan, of 72.

Spinner Abdur Rehman took six wickets as England put on another abject batting display.

The number one test side in the world had earlier dismissed Pakistan for 214 to give themselves the target of 145 to win.

But Andrew Strauss's men again failed to deal with the host's triple spin threat of Rehman, Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez.

Rehman ended on six for 25, while Ajmal's figures were three for 22.

Only Strauss (32) and Matt Prior (18) managed double figures, the tourists losing all 10 wickets in the space of 22 overs.
