The New Zealand sevens coach, Gordon Tietjens, has no concerns about the fitness of All Black winger Hosea Gear and he's predicting the Highlanders speedster to be a major force at this week's Wellington tournament.
Gear was yesterday named in the 12-man squad for the New Zealand leg of the IRB world series alongside debutants Ardie Savea and Mark Jackman.
Tietjens says he's known about Gear's desire to play in the tournament for quite some time and says the former Hurricanes star wouldn't have been picked had his fitness not been up to scratch.
