The New Zealand Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis says he's happy with their 83-77 win over the Perth Wildcats, but as far as he's concerned the victory over the other top side in the ANBL says nothing about their chances of defending their title.
In front of their fifth-straight sell-out crowd, the Breakers secured their fifth-straight victory by scoring 17 unanswered points in the third quarter to take control of the contest.
Lemanis says the way they restricted Perth's scoring options was significant but it doesn't necessarily give them an edge heading towards the play-offs.
Gary Wilkinson top scored for the Breakers with 18 points, while Cedric Jackson had a 15-point, 10-assist double.
The Breakers are now a game ahead of the Wildcats at the top of the table.
