McCullum more than happy with Whangarei win

The stand-in New Zealand cricket captain Brendon McCullum has hailed the Black Caps 141 run trouncing of Zimbabwe in the second one-dayer in Whangarei as a near complete performance.

The Black Caps wrapped up the 3-match series 2-nil with the tourists made to pay for sending New Zealand into bat as openers Martin Guptill and Rob Nicol set about dismantling the Zimbabwe attack.

Nicol anchored the innings with a controlled 146 while Jacob Oram's crushing 59 off just 35 balls helped set the visitors a mammoth 373 for victory.

While the Black Caps bowlers were unable to roll the Zimbabweans, McCullum was thrilled with the team's execution.

The third and final one-dayer is in Napier on Thursday.
