The Canterbury allrounder Andrew Ellis has been called into the Black Caps Twenty20 squad for the two matches against Zimbabwe in Auckland and Hamilton.
Ellis replaces batsman Dean Brownlie, who fractured a finger during the one dayer in Whangarei earlier this week.
The first T20 is at Eden Park on Saturday.
