Proteas shake off jet-lag with smashing session

The South African cricketers have had their first hitout ahead of Friday night's Twenty/20 against the Black Caps at Westpac Stadium with the Proteas shaking off the jet-lag in an intense session in the Basin Reserve nets.

The gruelling training went well overtime as the South African batsmen flexed their muscles with one well timed six smashing through one of the highest windows in the RA Vance stand, interrupting the press conference with captain Ab de Villiers and coach Gary Kirsten.

Kirsten says the session was the perfect way to blow out the cobwebs after the long flight from South Africa.

The Black Caps wrap up the Zimbabwe tour tomorrow, with the second and final Twenty/20 in Hamilton.
