Morkel keen to avenge last tour to New Zealand

The South African cricketer Albie Morkel has returned to New Zealand for the first time in nearly a decade and the all-rounder is desperate to erase the memories of his last visit to these shores.

The Proteas face the Black Caps in two Twenty20 games, starting in Wellington on Friday, followed by three one-dayers and a three-match test series.

On South Africa's last visit in 2004, the Black Caps won the one-day series 5-1 before a 1-all draw in the tests.

Morkel says that ill-fated tour left a bitter taste in his mouth.

South Africa open their tour with a Twenty20 match against Canterbury at Hagley Park.
