McCullum cagey over South African weaknesses

The New Zealand cricket captain Brendan McCullum is being cagey over how they'll target the South Africans in their opening Twenty20 international in Wellington on Friday.

The Proteas won their tour opener against Canterbury yesterday but weren't as comfortable against the hosts' spinners as they were against the pace bowlers.

McCullum says the Black Caps have four quality spinners to choose from, which is quite different to past teams, and he intends making the most of that.

But the South African cricket captain A B de Villiers is confident the Black Caps won't find any weaknesses in his side's ability to play spin bowling.

Michael Bates and Jacob Oram miss out on the hosts' matchday squad with Oram still a precautionary omission with his calf niggle. Andrew Ellis is likely to be 12th man.

The White Ferns national women's cricketers open their T-20 series against England as tomorrow night's curtain-raiser in the capital.
