Six Nations France-Ireland match rescheduled

6:43 pm on 15 February 2012

The postponed Six Nations rugby match between France and Ireland will now be played on March 5th.

The game was supposed to have been played on Sunday but English referee Dave Pearson was forced to postpone the match minutes before the kick-off because parts of the Stade de France pitch were frozen.

The French Rugby Federation had earlier said it wanted the match rescheduled for next season because of scheduling problems with French domestic competition.

The rescheduling for March match competition leaders Toulouse will host second placed Clermont the day before, meaning both clubs will again be missing several players because of international duty.

It also means that both France and Ireland will have to play four consecutive weekends in the run-in to the Six Nations.
