The national number one golfer Danny Lee's missed the cut at the latest PGA Tour event in California.
Lee was one over par with two holes to go in his second round, needing to birdie the final two holes to play the weekend at the Northern Trust Open when darkness ended play.
But the Rotorua native instead dropped two more shots, double bogeying the 17th to only manage a 74.
Phil Mickelson continues to lead by one stroke from another American, Pat Perez, after a one under 70.
