Arsenal out of FA Cup, Chelsea held by Birmingham

Arsenal have completed a miserable week by being dumped out of the FA Cup by Sunderland in the fifth round.

Four days after they were humbled 4-0 by AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash, two own goals ended the Gunners' last hope of silverware as Sunderland won 2-0 at the Stadium of Light.

Another London side, Chelsea, will need a replay after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Championship side Birmingham City, in a performance that did nothing to alleviate the pressure on manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Everton and Bolton Wanderers booked their places in the FA Cup quarter-finals with 2-0 victories over second tier opposition Blackpool and Millwall respectively.

Fellow Premier League team Norwich City were beaten 2-1 at home by second tier Leicester City.
