Bronze for NZ pursuit cycling team

The New Zealand men's pursuit team has won the bronze medal at the London World Cup track cycling meet, beating Belgium by almost six seconds.

Australia beat Great Britain for the gold.

BikeNZ High Performance Director Mark Elliott says the World Cup has proven invaluable for the New Zealand squad to gain an insight and experience on the new Olympic velodrome and to evaluate their overall progress.

He says their endurance squads have trained through the meet and are targeting April's world championships and therefore results in London were not the primary aim.
