Australia's champion racemare Black Caviar could be the toast of the thoroughbred world on Saturday when she attempts to extend her career record of 19 races unbeaten.
After winning the 1,000 metres Lightning Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, Black Caviar's trainer Peter Moody thought the mare's near race record time might have flattened her somewhat.
But he said yesterday she'd come through the race unbelievably well, and he plans to start her again in this Saturday's Futurity Stakes at Caulfield.
If she wins again Black Caviar will eclipse the US wonder mare Zenyatta as the only galloper in the world to win her first 20 races.
