Hammett knows it's going to be tough for Hurricanes

The Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett says he hasn't set any result expectations for his side as they head into the new Super Rugby season.

The Hurricanes start against the Stormers in Cape Town on Sunday morning, lacking experience after the likes of Andrew Hore, Piri Weepu, Hosea Gear and Ma'a Nonu moved on.

In his first year in charge the Hurricanes finished ninth.

The Hurricanes ended their pre-season with a win over the Chiefs, but Hammett admits starting their campaign with three matches on the road is a challenge.

Meanwhile captain Conrad Smith says he'd like to play this weekend against the Stormers, despite only joining the team three weeks ago and not getting on the field in any of their three pre-season matches.
