Camper loses lead on leg four of Volvo Ocean Race

6:48 pm on 27 February 2012

Team New Zealand's entry in the Volvo Ocean race, Camper, has lost the lead on the fourth leg to Auckland.

Earlier this morning Camper had an eleven mile nautical lead but now trail Groupama by almost 23 nautical miles, with the boats futher north enjoying more favourable winds.

The fleet is south of Japan and the weather forecast suggests that Camper won't get the full benefit of the new breeze until later this evening.

That means a nervous few hours for the Camper Crew as they try to fend off the advances of the fast approaching Puma and Abu Dhabi.

The fleet's expected to arrive in Auckland about March 4th.
