The All Whites striker Jeremy Brockie has missed out on a deal to play in the Chinese Super League with his Newcastle Jets A League club reportedly rejecting the bid.

The Newcastle Herald says the offer apparently from Super League club Liaoning (Yow Ning) Whowin

could have set Brockie up for life financially.

In the past, the Jets have said they cannot match the money on offer in Asia where there's no salary cap however they don't want to release their leading goalscorer with the A League playoffs about to start.

The season in China begins on March 10th.

Brockie is currently in Auckland for New Zealand's international friendly against Jamaica tonight.
